What is the MeCard?

The MeCard is a smart business card, meaning instead of having a stack of business cards that you hand to people, hoping they will store your contact details and get hold of you in the future, you have ONE credit card-sized card that you keep with you, and people you meet can tap your card with their phone to get ALL of your important contact information downloaded into their contacts list instantly.

What is the tap feature?

Most modern smartphones today ship with NFC technology. NFC stands for Near Field Communication and allows 2 objects in close proximity (less than 10cm) to talk to each other.The MeCard has an NFC chip built into it that can be read by today’s smartphones.  

The best thing about this is there is no app required! Your phone just needs to be unlocked and needs to have an internet connection (wireless or phone network).

Also, if your contact does not have NFC enabled on their phone, they can always scan the QR code that we include on the back of your smart business card.

Where does the information come from?

Your contact information is not actually stored on the card. 

Your information is stored on a secure server on the internet, and when a person taps their phone onto your card, your card tells their phone to go fetch your information from the server. 

This information loads in the recipient’s browser and automatically downloads a small file into their contacts app.

How does the company and personal profile information get uploaded and maintained?

Your administrator account will allow you to manage all the cards and profiles for your company via an intuitive online console. You can also invite people to manage their own profiles right from your management console.

How do I order and design my card?

  1. Order online – Choose between your very own Custom design (R399) or a Classic design (R299) card.

  2. Upload your artwork (upload your designs for the front and the back of the card). Remember you don’t need to put any contact details on the card design, just a name and job title is enough. This is because all of your contact details get transferred to the recipient’s phone electronically.

  3. Delivery within South Africa (from the time you have clicked the upload button we will keep you up to date with your order and you can expect delivery within 3-5 working days).
